Wide Open
was released by Clinetop Press in December 2001, receiving positive and
enthusiastic reviews from members of the martial arts community and from
business men and women who immediately purchased the book, not only for
themselves but also for their teenagers. Eyes
Wide Open
is an antidote to fear and powerlessness in the face of violence for Americans.
It is a preventative measure that should be read by everyone. The Eyes Wide Open project first began in the early 1990's when Kristie was studying martial arts privately with a professional bodyguard. She realized that the concepts used by bodyguards to take their clients from safe location to safe location could be used by every day people to avoid violence. Kristie began reading available material on the subject, and collecting the stories of both male and female victims of violence. In the year 2000, Gary Hubbell of Clinetop Press contracted Kristie to write the book Eyes Wide Open:Bodyguard Strategies for Self-protection. Through her dedication and the assistance of contributing martial artists and security experts who believed in the Eyes Wide Open project and also with the support of publisher Gary Hubbell, the work was completed and off the press in just under two years. It includes life saving information, is based on real stories of real people, and even assesses legal issues associated with the use of force. |
